A Note From Bro. Larry
On December 3, 2004 my
middle child, Andrea (18) had a terrible car accident. As I
write this note I am sitting at her bedside in DCH,
Tuscaloosa. She is in a coma with a life threatening brain
injury. The doctors give us very little hope that she will
come out of the coma and that she will be able to resume any
kind of a normal life. If that is God’s will I am willing
to accept it, but I do not think that it is. My God has
more wisdom than all the doctors in the world put together.
He has more strength than all the armies. He can make the
lame to walk, the blind to see and the dead to live again.
When God brought me to
Flint Hill to be the principal of the school I was cautious
about moving to Bessemer right away because I didn’t want
Andrea driving all the way to Tuscaloosa every day to go to
school. I still think that was the right decision, but God
has shown me that the best laid plans of mice and men go oft
awry. We prepare and plan but we have no control over the
circumstances and outcome. That is why it is best to be
right with our Lord and to know we are in His will.
Coming to Flint Hill was
the right decision. It was God’s will. Trying to protect
my daughter was also the right decision. It too, was God’s
will. That gives me a lot of peace that God is
working all things together for good according to His
purpose…
This is a WONDERFUL
church and school! I can’t even begin to tell you all the things that our
church has done for us during this hour of trial. They have
supported us with love, with prayer, with sacrifice and
effort, and with their pocket books. Our staff has dug in
and pulled an extra load to make up for our absence. Cards,
calls, visits, gifts, hugs, tears, and more love than we can
even comprehend has made this ordeal bearable. For
that reason we have asked Brother Bruce to link the 40 Days
of Purpose to prayer for Andrea. When you pray for Andrea,
please pray for our 40 Days of Purpose. Thank you
Flint Hill Ministries! Thank you church and school staff!
We love you and can’t wait to be back in the saddle again.
Keep Andrea in your prayers!
