FAQs
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the worship like at Flint Hill?
Worship at Flint Hill is first and foremost Word-centered. Every element within our worship service seeks to exalt the triune God. With the Word as our guide, we believe corporate worship is largely praise, remembrance, ordinance, and sacrifice in response to the goodness and mercy of God in Christ. We believe worship should be grounded in and full of the truth of scripture, with a special emphasis on the redemptive power of the cross and the free gift of grace Christ offers through His completed sacrifice for sin.
At Flint Hill, musical style, instrumentation, etc. are rightly regarded as secondary issues. However, the content of our worship is of the utmost importance. We at Flint Hill seek to honor Christ and His Church by singing songs with lyrics that can be substantiated by Scripture and that put emphasis on His revealed glory in Christ over our personal experience. Orthodox doctrine and theology are the goal of every element within our worship gathering.
A typical service at Flint Hill will contain songs and hymns of praise, corporate reading of Scripture, corporate prayer, and Word-centered preaching. We do sing songs in a variety of styles and occasionally incorporate other expressions of art (drama, visual media, etc.) into the corporate worship service. We also celebrate the Advent season, and place a high priority on the Lord’s table throughout the year.
