REAL
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which
indeed you were called in one Body; and be thankful.”
Colossians 3:15
We strive to be relational
in two ways. First, we want our worship not only to glorify
God vertically, but also to reach the Church horizontally.
We want to be relevant in our communication of God’s love
and grace through song. In short, we seek to enter into
God’s presence, not just put on a show for people. Secondly,
we strive to build strong relationships with one another. We
desire a strong sense of community among the choir
membership. We will be intentional about praying for one
another, meeting together socially outside of rehearsal, and
deepening the common ground we all have in Christ.
EXCELLENT
“Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord,
rather than men.” Colossians 3:23
We strive to do everything
with quality. We sing, rehearse, listen, focus, and perform
to the best of our abilities; not for the approval and
praise of others, but for the glory of the Lord.
AUTHENTIC
“So as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved,
put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility,
gentleness, and patience; bearing with one another and
forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against
anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.”
Colossians 3:12, 13
We are who we say we are.
Each one of use claims to be a Christian. Therefore, let us
live to honor Christ. This means being committed to a
lifestyle of worship that includes prayer, bible study, and
church attendance. It also means being kind, having a good
attitude, and encouraging other believers.
LED
BY THE HOLY SPIRIT
“For all who are being led
by the Spirit, these are the sons of God.” Romans 8:14
We seek the hand of God,
both in our personal lives and as a group of believers. We
pray for sensitivity to God’s Spirit and His leading. We
rely on Him. We sing to Him.
With His Word as our guide, we expect from
Him. We fully grasp that worship is not about us.
