Jason Handley, Youth Pastor
I have served at Flint Hill as Youth/Associate Pastor since June of 1998. I had a brief part on a church plant team in 2000 and returned to this area to serve God in the area that He has called me into. Beginning in August of 2004 I took on the additional duties of Recreational Minister. This will entail all activities on Franklin Field, Basketball leagues, fishing tournaments, church picnics, etc.
I have been happily married since June 15th, 1996 to my lovely wife, Jessica. She has been an awesome support for me in every aspect of ministry. We have been blessed with 2 precious little girls. Kelsey was born on May 31st, 2000 and Megan was born on September 20, 2002. They are the absolute joys of our lives and as any other parents would say “we can’t remember what we did before we had them.”
I graduated in 1991 from McAdory High School. I went on to the University of Alabama and completed almost 3 years of study in the area of Education. When I was called into the ministry I then pursued a degree in Theology. I received a Bachelors Degree in Theology from Andersonville Theological Seminary in Georgia, and I am currently 6 classes away from completing my Masters Degree in Ministry.
Ministry Information:
The Youth and Recreation ministries at Flint Hill exist to see lives changed and relationships strengthened with God. I believe that both of these areas of ministry are vital to the health and overall well-being of the body of Christ.
Spiritually healthy teens will be an asset not only to the church but also to society in general. We will achieve this through dynamic teaching, Christ-centered worship, awesome dramas, and God-honoring activities. Many of the teens that have come through here have gone on to serve the Lord in ministry, the medical field, the military, and many other vocations in which they seek to further His kingdom.
The recreation ministry will give our congregation and community the opportunity to fellowship with each other on a different level. Through softball, basketball, fishing, and other exciting events the body of Christ will be strengthened both spiritually and physically.
